curated by Nexus
We are delighted to announce the first official Open Call by Nexusprojects, an inclusive platform dedicated to digital art in the heart of Genoa.
With the ambition of bringing art to the forefront of everyday urban life, Nexusprojects adds a poetic touch to the cityscape while promoting contemporary themes in the stunning Mediterranean setting.
For this first edition of “Beyond The Screen: Nexus Call For Artists”, there is no specific theme: we offer complete freedom of expression to anyone interested in exploring the relationship between visual arts, poetry, and contemporary discourse within our communication platform. Projects will be evaluated based on their artistic quality, technical feasibility, and coherence with the hosting space—but we are open to being surprised by the diverse ideas that may emerge around this initiative.
Each week, the maxi screen on Torre Piacentini will showcase the selected works.
Each artist may submit up to three works.
The screen has a surface area of 150 square meters, positioned 120 meters above the ground, with a resolution of 1920 x 960 pixels at 25fps. Projects must be designed to fit this format.
To participate, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line: Open Call – Name Surname. Attach a single .zip or .pdf file containing:
Video files must be submitted in H.264 format, with a 10 Mbps bitrate, and must comply with the required resolution. If the files are too large for email, please provide a download link (WeTransfer recommended).
These submission requirements are essential for project evaluation.
Proposals will be assessed based on artistic quality, technical feasibility, and alignment with the curatorial vision. Selected artists will be contacted during the evaluation period.
Participation is free and open to everyone: artists, curators, filmmakers, and anyone interested in offering their interpretation of the theme and space. Collaborations are welcome and will be highlighted through our communication channels.
